The Death of Rocket Video

It is with great sadness that I write this post about the demise of yet another business in my neighborhood. Today was supposed to be the last day of Rocket Video... located at 315 N. La Brea. But the owners have given it another one week reprieve to sell off more of their catalog. Pretty much everything is for sale and the prices are dropping. You should stop by a take a look.

I can't even begin to say how insanely cool Rocket Video was. I was a frequent customer of theirs for 15 years. Rocket Video, along with Vidiots in Santa Monica, was one of only two really amazing video stores in Los Angeles. Rocket had everything...and I do mean everything! They had obscure French movies, Russian movies, Hong Kong movies, Japanese Animation.

Celebrities used the store repeatedly. I was once wandering the aisles and I ran into Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thornton. I had a nice chat with them for about five minutes. Another time I was checking out at the register and the customer in front of me was Dutch supermodel Frederique Van Der Wal. The employees could tell you boatloads of stories about the things that went on there. They even had special event nights where you could come and listen to a writer or director talk about a certain movie they had produced or worked on in the past.

20 years ago when it started, Rocket Video rented and sold VHS videotapes. Eventually Rocket made the transition from videotapes to DVDs, but the next transition, to digital content, was the one that really killed the business. Competition from Netflix, which didn't charge late fees, had been a problem... but the advent of digital content was the one that really finished off Rocket. The fact that people can now punch a few buttons on their remote control and order movies that are not yet released in DVD form is going to be problematic for many video stores in the future. The gigantic video chain Blockbuster - with 3,400 stores - just filed for bankruptcy. That tells you how bad things are getting for the DVD retail business.

One of the things I will miss the most with Rocket was the sense of surprise and wonderment you got from strolling the aisles there. I rented French movies, Hong Kong action flicks, Vietnamese films... all because I had a chance to see them in physical form and read a blurb about them on the jewel box case. Now, unfortunately, I believe I will get stuck with ordering only big studio blockbusters on Directv.

I stopped by Rocket several times in the last few weeks and loaded up on the many obscure favorites I had found over the years. A Russian movie about Cuba. A Brazilian TV series. An old, obscure TV series called "Kolchak, The Night Stalker" that I had loved as a kid.

Nobody is going to have these anymore.

The Hong Kong action section at Rocket Video will never be duplicated by anyone in America...ever again. It's very sad.

If you ever loved the old English comedy series "Benny Hill", you can stop by and purchase the whole series.

That is... if I don't get there first.

Kevin James just might be a genius

Radio Show host and Mayoral Candidate Kevin James had an article in the City Journal recently that led me to believe that he just might be a genius.

James proposed that the Los Angeles City Council become a part-time institution.

James argues that this would eliminate some of the corruption by dropping Council Members salaries and perks...and making the position less attractive to career politicians.

I think it is a brilliant idea... but unlikely to ever happen.

The corruption is too deep, and the temptation for ultra-liberals to micromanage the lives of others... well, that attraction never goes away for them.

This outside-the-box thinking by James impresses me.

I'm not on his bandwagon... but the other candidates right now are repulsive.

The Hamburglar? Austin Beutner? Wendy Greuel?

No, thanks.

The City will need a hero in 2013.

I'm still looking for a solid candidate to support.

Chris Christie at Reagan Library tonight

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie will be speaking at the Reagan Library tonight in Simi Valley. There were some low expectations that he might make some kind of announcement about possible running for President in 2012.

However, those expectations seem to have been squelched early, as Fox News is claiming they have received insider info that Governor Christie absolutely will not run for President in 2012.

I would imagine the phone banks up in Wasilla, Alaska might start ringing off the hook after Governor Christie makes this announcement.

The Manchurian President is going to be in town today. He needs to go grab some campaign cash from suckers in the entertainment industry.

Of course, as usual, his motorcade will barricade multiple streets in Los Angeles. Streets that I need to use to do my job and earn a living.

But, as usual, the Prince of self-importance will discard everyone else's freedoms to make sure he gets his campaign cash for his 2012 run.

This guy is, without a doubt, one of the biggest assholes in the world.

And it is not the first time he has done this, either....

Funny story today in the news.

Students at Sam Houston State decided to erect a "Freedom of Speech" wall at their school where students could express themselves. Well, almost...

One of the clever students had the temerity to write "FUCK OBAMA" in rather large letters on the wall. We all know what happens next in liberal-land.

A professor at the University demanded that it be removed.

(I wonder if he taught Russian History?)

The students didn't remove it, so the professor took a box-cutter and removed it himself.

Realizing their project was proving the opposite of their liberal fantasies, the students eventually scrapped the project.

It's just more proof that all liberals are hypocrites. They are all for Freedom of Speech, as long as you say exactly what they want you to say.

We all know that if the offensive writing was something sexual about Sarah Palin or Michele Bachmann, those good proletariat professors would have said nothing.

But talking about their false messiah? Shame on you!

News arrives today that Vladimir Putin will run for President of Russia in the next elections.

Even though Putin has been running things from behind the scenes, his return to the Presidency is practically guaranteed because of his record of achieving results as a leader.

Those Somali pirates who hijacked the Russian ship Moscow University?

Dead.

Those Chechen rebels who initiated the school hostage situation in Beslan?

Dead.

Those troublemakers in Georgia who stepped over the border line in Southern Russia?

They won't be doing that again.

Now I'm not saying that Putin is any type of model for world leadership. But there is one benefit to having a dictator in your country. He gets things done.

No talking. Just action.

Perry stumbles in Florida

I hate to say it, but my top choice for the GOP nomination in 2012 didn't do too well last night.

In fact, his debate answer about in-state tuition for illegals actually got him booed by the crowd.

Newt Gingrich was sharp and continued to show why he is the smartest guy in the room.

Mitt Romney...even though I dislike him... looked somewhat smooth and professional. (If you don't mind RINOs)

This debate only discouraged a lot of Republicans.

I would imagine that the phone lines in the offices of Chris Christie and Sarah Palin are going to be burning up with angry supporters who can't stand any of the current GOP field.

A tireless crusader against injustice.

This time, she has decided to help stop those evil businesses who sell fur!

Unfortunately, what Mary Cummins and her little band of ultra-liberals on the West Hollywood City Council don't understand, is that they are going to end up getting the City of West Hollywood sued in Federal Court!

Banning the sale of fur in only West Hollywood is a violation of the 14th Amendment of the United States Constitution. Which states....

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

California and West Hollywood will be liable when a Federal judge rules on this.

I'd file the suit myself, but I have better things to do with my time.

These nutty liberals never stop trying to control others.

Will the West Hollywood ban affect the killing of animals in Africa, or Russia, or Greenland?

Of course not. So what is their point...other than to be self-righteous, indignant, pompous nuisances to the lives of others?

Why The World Needs America

I caught this beautiful video clip courtesy of one of my Twitter friends, so I can't take credit for it.

But in a small way, it explains to my liberal friends out there why the world needs America.

Sure, we are not a perfect nation. But our beliefs in freedom and free markets have allowed us to become the wealthiest... and most generous .. nation on the face of the earth.

Our wealth, derived from capitalism, allows us to donate money and food, and to provide medical services to millions around the globe.

Only America could create a charity like Operation Smile.

And by the way...if you are ever looking for a charity to donate money to, I hope you will remember this small video clip.

More job-destroying tyranny from Obama on the way

Several disturbing news items about the current administration today.

One is that Obama is proposing over $1 TRILLION in new taxes. In addition, he promises spending cuts, but we all know those cuts will never happen.

The other item is that new legislation is about to be enacted that will kill jobs faster than ever.

Union cronies who hold Obama in their pocket want to enact freedom-destroying legislation that requires EVERY company to file complex financial data forms with the Labor Department if they think their activities might affect the ability of their workers to unionize.

This is insanity.

I will quote Winston Churchill here....

"If you have ten thousand regulations, you destroy all respect for the law!"

Ron Paul: The King of The Straw Poll

Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul, also known as "The King of The Straw Poll", was in California yesterday to speak at the California Republican Party Fall Convention.

I skipped it, because I've seen what happens when Ron Paul is around. I saw him the last two years at CPAC in Washington D.C. He usually has a large following that is somewhat fanatical and a bit overzealous in their support of the Texas Congressman. They like to run around screaming "RON PAUL!!" at the top of their lungs. It gets a bit annoying. This video is a perfect example.

These Ron Paul supporters have earned the nicknames "Paultards" and "Paul-bots" from other Republicans.

To be fair, I actually like Ron Paul. I bought his book and agree with about 50% of his philosophies. The big problem for me is that I don't agree with his concepts about international relations. He naively thinks that America will be "left alone" if we stop meddling in the politics of other nations.

Yeah. Try telling that to the Israelis.

Ron Paul has earned the reputation as the "King of The Straw Poll" because his fanatical followers will show up at any public event to support him in Straw Poll voting. Unfortunately for Mr. Paul, these rabid supporters are -- generally speaking -- his only supporters.

2012 will mark the third time that Congressman Paul runs for President.

Just like the other two times, he won't win a single state primary.

Carter gives Romney the "Kiss of Death"

Former President Jimmy Carter came out in an interview and said that he wants Mitt Romney to be the Republican nominee and he also thinks nobody can beat Barack Obama in 2012.

Yeah, that should just about seal the deal.

Romney is done.

Congressman McCotter on his birthday

Although I am supporting Texas Governor Rick Perry for President, I do have to admit that I admire Michigan Congressman Thaddeus McCotter. He's getting ignored by the media...but there is an authenticity to him that is very likeable.

He's right about one thing.

Big Government is the biggest special interest of all.

And Barack Obama is the #1 lobbyist for more government interference in your life.

Democrats facing election catastrophe in 2012

Sometimes I enjoy watching the liberals suffer. I will flick around channels like MSNBC to see what has them riled up. Lately they seem to be hating on Texas Governor Rick Perry pretty hard, which tells me that he is the one that they fear.

Last night the nonsensical policies of Barack Obama had a catastrophic effect.

The Democrats lost an election in a Congressional District that is 80% Democrat.

Republican Bob Turner won the election to replace Anthony Weiner. Turner, by the way, lost the last election in this District to the now-disgraced Anthony Weiner, but his 40% showing in that 2010 race led to his eventual breakthrough victory last night.

There is absolutely nothing the Democrats can say to spin this as anything but a catastrophic warning from the voters.

The nonsensical policies of Barack Obama have the country paralyzed economically. When Obama threw Israel under the bus, that was the last straw for many Jewish voters....and an ominous sign for 2012. The fact that the Democratic candidate David Weprin was Jewish did not help him. He had offended many in the Orthodox Jewish community by voting for gay marriage in the New York State Legislature.

New Yorks 9th Congressional District now has a Republican in charge for the first time since 1922! Now, the fact that Republicans picked up one single Congressional seat doesn't mean that much in the bigger picture. Republicans hold the House. But the fact they did this in such a heavily Democratic District should be setting off alarm bells all over the country.

And Democrats in competitive Districts have to be worried about their survival now.

Imagine that. Obama might increase employment after all....

There might be several new Republicans working in Washington in 2012.

Tea Party Debate Recap

Last night the leading Republican contenders for the Presidential nomination in 2012 got together in Florida for a debate sponsored by the Tea Party.

I'll give a breakdown by candidate.

Newt Gingrich

For my money, Newt Gingrich won this debate. Lots of sound policy statements. Newt showed everyone in the audience why he is the smartest guy in the room. He issued lots of home run statements and got the crowd fired up. I've always thought Newt Gingrich would be one of our best candidates, because he would dismantle Obama in a debate. Unfortunately, Newt should have run for President years ago. His messy divorce and his extramarital affairs have left his brand crippled. He won't be winning this election.

Governor Rick Perry

Perry did better than in his first debate, but still dealt with the lions share of the attacks as he is currently the front runner. He got smacked around in the Gardasil argument and didn't fully explain his way out of it... but he did admit to making a mistake with that vaccine program.

Perry also surprisingly drew some boos from the crowd for his support of in-state tuition for the children of illegal immigrants. But, being true to form, he didn't backtrack or waffle on his position.

Mitt Romney

Romney, again, looked smooth and polished and seemed very Presidential. I'm no fan of his, but I agree he won the first debate. But Gingrich won this one. Romney hasn't done anything to help him catch Perry in the polls. This debate didn't change that, either.

Michele Bachmann

Bachmann finally came out swinging and nailed Rick Perry on his Gardasil controversy. She may have had the best comeback of the night when she responded to Perry saying he was offended by responding that she was offended for all the little girls to whom Perry wanted to dictate vaccinations. Bachmann also nailed Romney by saying that he and Perry weren't committed to getting rid of Obamacare, because as Governors they had allowed similar programs in exist in their states.

Rick Santorum, Jon Huntsman, Herman Cain, Ron Paul

I'll lump these guys together since they all have ZERO chance of winning. Perry is up to 30% in the polls and these guys can't break out of the single digits.

Santorum should drop out. He offers nothing the others don't.

Huntsman made a weird reference to Kurt Cobain that had the Twitter universe in stitches. People were mocking him online for the rest of the night.

Herman Cain showed nothing new or notable.

Ron Paul had his usual moment of weirdness when he blamed the US for being attacked.

He showed that he has earned the nickname "Congressman Magneto" from people in the Twitter and Facebook universe.

The candidates with the biggest complaints last night had to be Gary Johnson, a two-term Governor from New Mexico, and sitting Congressman Thaddeus McCotter. They continue to be disinvited from these forums, even though people like Santorum and Huntsman -- who also have no chance -- continue to eat up valuable airtime.

WINNER: Newt Gingrich.

Second Place: Michele Bachmann

Zuma Dogg for Mayor?

News arrives today that local community activist and media personality David "Zuma Dogg" Saltsburg plans to run for Mayor in the 2013 Los Angeles Mayoral election. According to his blog, Zuma Dogg plans to file his papers today to enter the race.

I first met Zuma Dogg in 2009 when we were both filing papers to run for Mayor against Antonio Villaraigosa. I badly underestimated Zuma Doggs popularity, which had been achieved through a combination of years of blogging, community activism, City Hall public commentary, and various other media appearances. Zuma Dogg took fourth place in the 2009 Mayoral election, garnering over 9,000 votes.

Do I think Zuma Dogg will be successful in 2013 ? No.

The 2013 race for Mayor will be a different story. It will be filled with heavy hitters. Career politicians looking to pad their resumé. Zev Yaroslavsky is a heavy favorite due to his status of serving over two decades as an elected official. City Council President Eric Garcetti is another big name who seeks the office. Controller Wendy Greuel is a little bit of a longshot, but she knows how to utilize the media and how to launch attacks that damage the credibility of her opponents. Rumors are that City Council Member Jan Perry (a.k.a. "The Hamburglar") may have to drop her run for Mayor and instead focus on the race for Controller.

And this is all without mentioning multi-millionaire developer Rick Caruso, who could spend unlimited personal funds on this race.

However, I am happy to see Zuma Dogg enter the race.

It sets up a titanic showdown in the future.

At some point in the 2013 race, there will be a forum/debate in the Valley. Dangerous Enemy of Freedom Judy Price will try to have certain candidates removed. Zuma Dogg will be able to argue that he has received more votes for Mayor than any of the candidates running. He can even brag about his fourth place finish in 2009.

There can be no mistaking why Osama Bin Laden chose the crucial date of September 11th.

It was a big middle finger gesture to Western Civilization.

He was, in effect, saying.. "We are still here....and we are still going to kill you!"

September 11th, 1683 was the date of the beginning of the end of the Muslim Empire.

By 1683, the Muslims had spent over a thousand years rampaging around the Middle East and the Mediterranean, conquering Greece, Yugoslavia, and Hungary and setting their eyes on Central Europe. They laid siege to the City of Vienna, Austria, which at the time was the cultural crossroads of Europe.

The Fall of Vienna most likely would have doomed Europe and meant the deaths of millions of Christians at the hands of the Muslims. But history didn't turn out that way.

The Holy Roman Empire cobbled together a coalition of fighting forces, led by the King of Poland with his famed "Winged Hussars" cavalry. They banded together with Saxons and Bavarians to defend Vienna and rode to the rescue when things looked very bleak.

With the City about to fall, the King of Poland led the largest cavalry charge in human history. Over 20,000 cavalry units charged into the Muslim forces, routing them and sending them running for their lives. In the frenzied retreat, the Muslims left behind great wealth and assets and weaponry. The Muslims threat to Western Civilization had been repulsed, and the Muslims would never recover. They were later kicked out of Hungary, Yugoslavia, Greece, and Spain.

Their world influence was never the same.

Although their population numbers have grown dramatically in recent years, the Muslims actual power and influence has diminished greatly.

In modern times, the Muslims have proven to be incredibly incompetent fighters.

In 1967, even though they heavily outnumbered the Israelis, the Muslims were routed by them. The Israelis destroyed nearly the entire Egyptian Air Force while it was sitting on the ground.

The hotheads in Iran fought a war with Iraq in the 1980s that they couldn't win even with eight years of effort.

When American and coalition forces moved into Iraq in 2003, they destroyed the worlds fourth largest army in 30 days. More recently, American forces routed the Taliban out of Afghanistan in a matter of weeks.

The attacks on America on September 11th may have only accelerated the decline and fall of Muslim influence in the world.

The attacks were the last, fatal move of a violent religion that will eventually be relegated to the ash heap of history as the rest of the world turns against them.

Just like they did on September 11th, 1683.

What the West needs to know about Islam

The long-term goal of Islam is the extermination of every Christian and Jew on this planet.

Muslims have been committing massacres of non-Muslims for over 1000 years, and they are not going to stop.

The countries with the highest percentages of Muslim populations have become miniaturized versions of hell on earth for their inhabitants.

GOP Debate at The Reagan Library

Here's a brief recap and some thoughts on the GOP Debate at The Reagan Library.

First of all, I was really offended that a lunatic liberal station like MSNBC got to televise and supervise this event at The Reagan Library. I know that the different networks get to host a debate in the interest of fairness, but when they drew up the plan for this one, someone should have objected.

The Reagan Library, due to its political connections, was filled with Conservatives who wanted to hear their favorites speak. They weren't interested in the attempted attacks by the liberal moderators. The very first question out of the box was some nitwit MSNBC host basically asking Governor Perry..

"Governor, why is Texas so terrible..?

Things didn't improve from there, either.

The liberals, in a panic over the surge of Governor Perry in the polls, tried to take him apart, asking him question after question. They tried to get Mitt Romney into the fight and tried to provoke him into attacking Rick Perry. For the most part, Mitt Romney stayed above the fray. His answers were smooth and he appeared professional, even Presidential.

It bothers me to say this, because I don't like Mitt Romney, but I feel he won the debate. He fended off attacks and countered with strong commentary on Barack Obama that didn't veer off into controversial territory. He looked the most Presidential.

Governor Perry, my personal choice, did reasonably well in his first debate as a 2012 candidate. He seemed calm and confident and seemed humored by the lines of attack. He didn't lose his cool much and gave some solid comments. But he did appear to stumble a little at times. But he did nothing to hurt his front-runnner status. The media is making a big deal out of his "Ponzi Scheme" comments about Social Security, but I think in the long run, that comment won't amount to much.

The person who really got screwed in this event was Michele Bachmann. I was watching the time and keeping track and they often went 15-20 minutes without asking her a question. This is how the liberals at MSNBC planned to derail her campaign...shove her to the sidelines and then pronounce her candidacy as dead. It was an evil little trick by them, and I'm not happy about it. MSNBC basically ignored most of the other candidates and made it a two man show by directing their comments to Perry and Romney all night.

Newt Gingrich had a wonderful moment where he lashed out a the moderators for trying to stir up a fight between the candidates. Newt showed his usual flashes of brilliance, but his social baggage will keep him out of the White House.

I was following my Twitter feed as much as the debate, and many of my fellow Conservatives were noticing the same things: The illogically slanted questions by the media, the obvious favoritism towards Romney and Perry, and the strange lack of questions for Bachmann. They also noticed that MSNBC seemed to oddly be promoting the candidacy of Jon Huntsmann. I guess he's the type of Republican they like.

One of my favorite comments was from the Twitter feed when someone called Ron Paul "Congressman Magneto" after he went off on a little rant about "sexual activities" of the TSA agents at the airports. Even the moderator took a swipe at that one, saying "Good luck at LAX tonight".

Cain, Santorum, and Huntsmann did little to help their cause. They are probably out after the first few primaries.

I don't think the race is down to Romney vs. Perry yet. I think Chris Christie, Jeb Bush, and Sarah Palin all could possibly jump into the race late and have a large impact on the outcome.

Ron Paul: A Modern Day Neville Chamberlain

Last night I was watching a recording I had made of the last GOP Presidential Debate in Iowa. I wanted to go over some of the facts and statements to compare them to the debate being held tonight at The Reagan Library in Simi Valley. I figured some of the candidates might be refining their answers, or even changing their stories.

I found myself strangely liking the performance of Jon Huntsmann. I don't agree with him on several subjects, but his performance was strong and he didn't back down from his views. I especially liked his comment on China, saying that the next President should know something about them. (Huntsmann was the U.S. Ambassador to China)

I was also surprised by how much I liked Rick Santorum. Ideologically, we have very similar philosophies. Unfortunately for Santorum, the media doesn't see him as a major player, so they spent most of their time grilling Romney, Bachmann, and Pawlenty.

The highlight of the evening for me was when Ron Paul and Rick Santorum got into a snit over Iran. Ron Paul dragged out his tired old nonsense about how America "meddles" in the affairs of other countries, and how 9-11 is just "blowback" from our interference.

Santorum blasted back, saying how how Iran is now a "Mullah-ocracy" and how they remained a clear and present danger because of their nuclear ambitions.

Ron Paul upsets me with this type of nonsense.

How can he not remember Pearl Harbor?

America lost 2,400 service members in one day.

They were attacked and killed by a country that we were not at war with.

This is what happens when you follow Ron Pauls advice and "mind your own business".

Yes, fighting wars is expensive. But not fighting them can cost you a lot more.

Your enemies will make sure of that.

Villaraigosa, Canoga Park, and Twitter

The other night I was checking my Twitter feed and I saw some reprehensible boasting by our pathetic Mayor. He was talking about opening a new park. As usual, our Photo-Op Mayor was all smiles and handshakes. (And then he turns around and loots the city treasury and destroys LA's future while people are not watching.)

I fired back with a good crack.

I told him that maybe some of the armies of the unemployed he is creating can use that park to sleep in.

The fact that he was in Canoga Park reminded me of one of my favorite videos....

Manchurian President visits liberal paradise: Detroit!

The Manchurian President is in Detroit today.

He will be speechifying and getting the union people worked up until they are foaming at the mouth.

I hear that Jimmy Hoffa Jr. has already been using derisive slurs against taxpayers.

Obama said Hoffa "made him proud."

Sarah Palin disappoints her fans in Iowa

Former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin gave her big speech at the Tea Party rally in Iowa yesterday.

Most of her fans and supporters wanted to hear her declare her candidacy for the GOP nomination in 2012. She didn't do that.

I was quite certain that she would use a better day to choose to announce. It would get poor publicity over a Labor Day weekend to choose to do that type of campaigning.

I think it is reasonably likely that Sarah will run.

If she had decided not to run, she could have said so months ago. But she keeps hinting that she is "still thinking" about it.

One of my good friends thinks she is delaying because she wants to skip most of the debates and jump into the race at the last minute.

Sarah Palin rides to the rescue

Tomorrow is the big day that Sarah Palin speaks at a Tea Party rally in Iowa.

At least, that is the plan.

It is possible Sarah may bail out of this event, as the organizers are incompetent and stupid.

They invited former Senate candidate Christine O'Donnell to speak, then turned around and dis-invited her. That is some tacky stuff -- and it shows that these people are not ready for prime time. Sarah Palin would be better served having her own event.

It is suggested by the media that Sarah Palin may declare her entry into the 2012 Presidential race tomorrow. I don't think so.

I think Sarah will talk about her movie "The Undefeated" being released on pay-per-view.

However, her fans and followers are getting restless. They want someone they can campaign for. Sarah needs to hurry up and make her decision. But I don't think she will make this decision over a holiday weekend.

No, I figure Sarah Palin will announce her intentions three or four weeks from now.

"Super Villain" Richard Alarcon continues crime spree

Sometimes the news in Los Angeles is not only unsettling, but it is very difficult to comprehend.

Super Villain and Master Criminal Richard Alarcon, who is currently masquerading as a Los Angeles City Councilman, will attempt to continue his non-stop crime spree by running for the 39th Assembly District seat in the San Fernando Valley.

Wow.

Think about that for a second.

Alarcon is currently under indictment. Facing criminal charges for registering to vote and voting for himself for City Council -- in a District where he did not actually live!

Alarcon is cooked with these charges. He can't win.

The prosecutors can use cell phone records to prove that Alarcon was never anywhere near that house. The utility bills... and a lack of usage also prove that nobody was living in that house that Alarcon was lying about.

Still... you have to admire the hubris.

This is a guy who has already screwed the voters of the 39th!

He ran for this seat and won it, then gave the voters the middle finger salute as he bailed out and ran for Los Angeles City Council after serving only 100 days at his elected position.

Alarcon is so corrupt and mentally disturbed that he views his voters as absolute pigeons.

Sheep. Cattle.

He feels that he can do anything to them and they will still vote for him.

Unfortunately, he is probably correct.

Voters of the 39th Assembly District are dumb. Real dumb.

Even though Alarcon treats them with nothing but contempt, they will welcome him back with open arms.

They will deserve what they get.
