My views on: Obamacare

I want to make very clear to potential voters what my views are about Obamacare.

If elected to Congress on November 6th, I will do everything within my power to destroy Obamacare, because the concept is both illegal and immoral.

I believe in the sanctity of the Tenth Amendment, which limits Federal power over the States. I believe the government routinely violates our Constitution and our rights by attempting to do far too much in order to placate restless citizens.

Giving the Government the right to seize the entire health care industry and to dictate terms and prices and procedures is an act of lunacy that was only made possible through Democratic bribery and extortion. Senators Ben Nelson of Nebraska and Mary Landrieu of Louisiana accepted bribes offered by fellow legislators to change their votes and pass the Obamacare bill. I mentioned in my debate with Adam Schiff that some of these people need to see the inside of a jail cell if our government is ever going to function correctly.

If Obamacare was so wonderful, why did 800 different organizations that support Obama need a waiver from it? Allowing the law to apply to some, but not to others is a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, which says that laws must equally apply to all citizens. Therefore, Obamacare violates our Constitution and is illegal.

Obama, under the guise of "providing health services" recently dictated to Catholic hospitals that they had to provide abortion drugs to patients. This violates several tenets of the Catholic faith and is something they can never do. Eventually Obama backed off of this demand when several Catholic institutions, including the University of Notre Dame, started suing his Administration. At the same time Obama was trampling on the religious freedom of Catholics, he was completely exempting his precious buddies the Muslims from participating in Obamacare, because health insurance is a form of gambling, which is not allowed in Islam. Therefore, because Obama will use force against one religious faith while completely exempting another faith from his wrath, Obamacare is immoral.

I will finish my argument today with one very specific statement concerning my opposition to Obamacare:

Giving the Government more control over your health care is giving the Government more control over you.

Think about that.

I often criticize Obama by calling him "Caesar" or "Pharaoh" because of his fondness for breaking our laws and violating our Constitution and its protections from tyranny.

But as bad as Obama is... what if someone comes along that is worse?

What if 20 years from now we have a leader who makes Obama look like a meter maid?

What if this new, crazed leader issues a decree that all citizens who donated financially to the political opposition in the past will now no longer receive medical treatment?

This is why you don't leave the health care industry under government control. You cannot afford to mistakenly assume that all future leaders will be kind-natured angels.

History has proven repeatedly that this is not the case.

My views on: Americas Biggest Threat

The biggest threat right now to America isn't Barack Obama. And it isn't the Russians, the Chinese , or the Muslims, either.

The single biggest threat to America right now....beyond any foreign army or terrorist, is the collapse of our currency caused by the awful economic policies of our government. Our leaders have, in effect, created a "Ponzi Scheme" Government.

Our national debt is impossible to pay off. Even if the government seized every penny of currency in the world, there still wouldn't be enough money to pay it off. But the national debt is a bit misleading, because a huge chunk of it is money we owe to ourselves. 

How do you pay yourself back? 

When you have been spending money you don't have, and cranking up the printing presses to produce fiat currency...money backed up by nothing but air....you jeopardize your entire economy and your countries financial future. Usually this leads to a devaluation of your currency and difficult economic times. That additional money gets into the flow of commerce and causes prices to rise.

It isn't so much the cost of gasoline that is going up, as it is the value of a dollar that is going down.

Back when we were on a gold or silver standard, our money had real value.... But now with these irresponsible economic policies, our money and our value are disappearing before our very eyes.

The problem all started in 1971 when President Richard Nixon took our country off the Gold Standard. Prior to 1971, one U.S. dollar was the equivalent of $1 of gold held in the reserves of the United States Treasury...much of it at Fort Knox, Kentucky. 

Now, we have what is known as a "fiat currency" that holds value only because our government says it does. The basic problem with this is that investors can lose faith in a government and cause the value of their money to collapse. This often happens with stunning speed.

Quantitative Easing is a recipe for financial collapse and our government needs to stop doing it. It is a reckless policy that cheats people out of value across the globe.

Barack Obama is the biggest thief in human history. His policies have eroded so much value from our money, that the hundreds of millions of Americans -- and indeed, the billions of the people around the world who depend on US currency for their medium of exchange -- have lost trillions of dollars of wealth just based on the decline of our moneys value.

A writer on the internet pointed out the other day that our government will never go broke. They can simply print up more money, he said. That's true, but that printing will destroy the value of all the dollars currently in existence. Someday soon you might be paying $25 for an In 'N Out cheeseburger. Or $100 for a Dominos pizza.

Sure, you will make more money than ever, but your pay most likely won't keep up with the staggering inflation that "Quantitative Easing" will likely produce. We have all heard stories of the Weimar Republic in Germany, where people had to bring a wheelbarrow full of money to the store to purchase a loaf of bread.

Things are not that bad here in America...yet.

But we are headed in that direction.

We need to elect leaders who understand economics and the dangers of a money-printing policy that eventually harms everyone.

Romney looking, acting, and sounding Presidential

This video is big trouble for the Obama campaign.

This is Mitt Romney looking, acting, and sounding Presidential.

Romney is starting to feel it. He knows he is closing in on the White House.

Florida is gone for Obama, so is North Carolina.

Obama is desperately trying to hang on in Ohio, Nevada, Iowa and Wisconsin.

Romney might win them all.

My views on : Libya

Due to the fact that I probably will not get to debate Adam Schiff again before the Nov. 6th election, I am going to release a series of opinion papers to help communicate my views to the voters of the 28th Congressional District. This series, entitled "My views on..." will continue until the election and cover a very wide and diverse range of subjects.

LIBYA


When discussing Libya with the voters, there are several different areas that need to be discussed. Most recently, the discussions concerning Libya have been primarily focusing on the death of our Ambassador and his staff.

While the deaths of the Ambassador and his staff were heinous and inexcusable, it remains a sad commentary on the state of diplomacy that when you have diplomats serving in a troubled area where revolutions or wars are going on, that they will constantly remain in potential danger and can consistently be viewed as potential targets by opposing forces in that area.

Conservatives on Facebook and Twitter are eager to bash Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton and do some finger-pointing and scandal-accusing due to these tragic deaths. I myself, on the other hand, am not so quick to blame anyone in particular. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton have to oversee hundreds of Embassies around the world, and it is impossible for any one human to keep track of them all simultaneously. This is why there is a chain of command, and certain duties are delegated to various staff members further on down the line.

Now, it may be that the staff there in Libya requested additional security. Maybe they didn't. Maybe they misjudged or underestimated the aggression by local forces towards their compound. It is difficult to say what exactly happened there without having more facts, but we do know the outcome of that nights events. And it wasn't good for America.

However, most Americans would be surprised to learn that the Muslims in Libya have been causing trouble for America for over 200 years!

Yes, you read that right. This is where the Ron Paul supporters go horribly awry when they believe that America causes all it's own problems by meddling in international affairs. We didn't have any military bases in anyones countries, yet the Muslims were gladly participating in open thievery against us, by committing pirate attacks on our commercial shipping.The Muslims in Libya attacked and seized their first American naval vessel in 1784 when our young country was only 8 years old!! 

The Barbary Pirates (as they were called then) not only robbed and stole from people, they attacked other nations and enslaved their populations. The Muslims in Libya were responsible for over 1 million Europeans being sold into slavery.

Thomas Jefferson tried to negotiate some type of peaceful passage for our commercial fleet, but ended up being threatened into paying extortion money by the Muslims. Jefferson eventually got sick of being extorted, and used Americas wealth to build the U.S. Navy and the Marine Corps.

Our American military eventually retaliated against the Muslims by bombarding Tripoli with cannonballs until the Muslims decided to stop attacking American ships.

To this day, the official Marine Corps song talks about "From the halls of Montezuma...to the shores of Tripoli" because it was their first great victory over a foreign power.

So basically, Muslims in Libya have been causing us trouble for over 200 years, most of it due to the inherent immorality of their peculiar religion. But that is another subject for another day.

Another issue, as to whether or not we should have intervened militarily by bombing Libya in 2011, that is a separate question.

Peaceniks, hippies and Libertarians always hate war and don't want America involved militarily anywhere at anytime. Their position is ludicrous and denies the basic existence of evil in this world.

Moammar Ghaddafi was an evil man. Anyone who uses military force against their own civilian population usually is on the verge of losing power because they have lost their moral authority to lead.

Happy citizens don't try to kill their leaders.

I am not opposed to quick, short-term military interventions like this. When we as Americans help stop a mad dictator from killing his own people, it only increases our moral authority in this world by showing everyone else that we lead by example.

Our actions usually help destroy the last shred of dignity or legitimacy that a fallen leader will ever have.

Critics argue that we might have inadvertently helped the Muslim Brotherhood to seize control in Libya.

That might be a fact, but it also might be false. It is possible that fanatical Muslims would have gained power and control in Libya even without our help. Some of this is due to a very basic difference in the belief system and values that Muslims have compared to people in other parts of the world.

The problems in Libya are just one part of a bigger complex of issues across the Middle East.

Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq...it's all the same thing, really.

It's all just part of the larger war against Muslims, just in different neighborhoods.

My debate answer on Abortion

I didn't get to finish my answer in the debate due to time limits, so I thought I would print my full response here on my blog.

ABORTION

Being that this is a debate sponsored by the League of Womens Voters, I had to be quite certain that the topic of abortion would come up. My answer to the question is this:

All human societies and cultures have basically been an unwritten contract between those who came before us -- our ancestors -- the people who are currently living -- us -- and the generations that will follow us. My opinion is that our ancestors did everything they possibly could to make sure that we got here safely and are able to live the exact lives that we are living right now.  Why would you want to break that contract with future generations and tell them that they have no right to exist?

Mike Huckabee gave a phenomenal speech at CPAC 2012 in which he explained that an unborn baby is not just a mass of cells. It has a unique DNA profile that has never existed before and will never exist again. That unborn child will not become a piece of broccoli or a giraffe or a basketball. It will become a human being.

My opinion is that are certain moral absolutes in this world, and abortion is one of those issues that is absolutely, morally wrong.

My position is that I am pro-life with no exemptions or exceptions being made. I know that certain moderate Republicans have more flexible stances on this issue, including exemptions in the cases of rape, incest or the life of the mother being endangered. I do not agree with these exemptions.

Now, Republicans, we simply want to overturn Roe vs. Wade and have this decision sent back to the State level.  There is no doubt that some states would still allow abortion.
So Democrats saying that the election of Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan will be the end of abortion is simply false.

Horrific sex-selective abortions might also lead to World War 3. China and India are both going to end up with a surplus of males who cannot find a mate or have a family. This situation will most likely cause riots and maybe even warfare as these countries struggle with this shameful legacy. 

Most of you know who Steve Jobs is. He was the founder of the worlds most valuable company, Apple Computers. He was an unwanted child who was adopted, not aborted.

And what a different world we live in because of that decision.

In 1961 a young teenager at the University of Hawaii was impregnated by a man from Kenya. If Adam Schiff and the Democrats had had their way with Roe vs. Wade 20 years earlier, Barack Obama might never have been born. And as much as I don't care for Obama or his policies, I would never deny him the right to exist.

I'm Pro-life. No exemptions.

If you are a political leader who won't protect life, ... then Liberty and the pursuit of happiness don't stand a chance.

The League of Women Voters Debate: The Aftermath

Last nights debate with Adam Schiff was a pleasant experience for me and there were many positives to be gained for my campaign for the 28th District Congressional seat. However, there were also a few setbacks as certain things didn't go exactly as I had planned.

Arriving at the venue a bit early, I was worried that the evening would be a complete bust as there were only about 15 people there. However, the crowd slowly trickled in and eventually ended up nearly filling the 100 seat City Council chambers in Burbank City Hall.

The crowd was unsettlingly partisan. I could tell most of the people there knew Schiff personally or were there to support him. However, it didn't affect the debate as most people didn't cheer or boo or make any comments whatsoever, except for some occasional outbursts of laughter at clever comments made by both of the candidates.

Before the debate started the League of Women Voters greeted us both and gave us a rundown on the technical details about timing and responses to the questions. Another gentleman came out of the TV room to discuss the cameras and their angles.

When Joan Hardie got on camera and started introducing the debate on live TV, I have to admit being slightly nervous. It was my first televised debate and I didn't want to screw up.

Adam Schiff started doing something that I found a bit odd and terribly unnerving. He was staring right into the TV cameras and addressing the audience at home and on the internet. There was a flat screen on either side of us, so it ended up that his image was looking right back at me. It was a little bit creepy and immediately made me think of that "Heavens Gate" cult in San Diego where people committed suicide waiting for the "mother ship" to take them away from Earth. I was thinking... there are people right in front of us...who is he talking to, the mother ship?

His staring into the camera was unnerving, so I tried not to look at him during the debate. I kept my focus on reading the faces in the crowd. I also tried not to grimace or smirk or react to his comments. But I did slap my forehead when he started talking about Global Warming.

I feel that overall, Adam Schiff did a little bit better than I did. He has ten years experience as an elected official, and it showed in his performance. He had smooth answers filled with technical details. I stumbled a little bit when the questions got real policy-wonkish with legislation that I had not read or was not even aware of.

I clearly crushed him on answers about gay marriage, Citizens United and Global Warming. He got the best of me on a few other questions...most of them dealing with questions involving specific pieces of legislation that I was not familiar with. Twice I had to say that I was unfamiliar with what they were asking about. I really hated that. (Come on people...this is a debate!! Where are the questions about Libya and taxes!)

I clearly had the more quotable moments of the night, and got the biggest laugh of all when I talked about the depth and strength of my opposition to gay marriage taking me inside West Hollywood City Council chambers and telling them my positions.

"That didn't go over very well.." I quietly added near the end of the question, as the crowd burst into loud laughter.

My friends who came to support me said I did well, but I couldn't help but feel that the overly specific questions had robbed me of the chance to give broader answers on larger issues. Hopefully the next time I get into a debate, I will face more open-ended questions than I did last night.

I can't wait to watch the replay and I'm curious to find out which quotes the reporters are going to use in their media coverage of the event.

It certainly wasn't boring. Schiff and I disagreed on almost every subject.
