Let's face it. Barack Obama is probably on his way out.
10% unemployment, $4 a gallon gasoline and a collapsed economy are not going to make people go running to the polls to vote for Barack Obama. In fact, the unemployment rate is very troubling. Most Presidents up for re-election do not survive a rate higher than 7%.
Mitt Romney and Michele Bachmann were already proving to be competitive opponents, and now comes whispers that Texas Governor Rick Perry is going to jump into the race this week and announce his intentions at a political conference in South Carolina this weekend.
Now, several things could happen by November 2012 to improve Obamas situation, but most of these scenarios are unlikely. Obama only won the states of Indiana, Virginia, and North Carolina by tiny percentages.
It is unlikely he will win them again.
