Pasadena on New Years Day!

I'm headed to Pasadena in just a matter of hours. I'l be attending the Tournament of Roses Parade with front row seats in front of the Norton Simon Museum.

I'll be wearing my grey Wisconsin hoody if you see me on TV.
Then it's over to the game to hopefully watch the Badgers win their fourth Rose Bowl.

I'll update my Facebook page from the parade route.
Game updates unlikely. Cell towers get jammed there.

"You say you want a Revolution?"

Take a close look at the photo above. This nitwit is Lisa Jackson, an appointee of Barack Obama to head the useless government bureaucracy known as the EPA.

Lisa Jackson, with her apparatchik status, may just have become The Most Dangerous Person in America. In fact, she might inspire a Civil War in this country.

Jackson recently started running the EPA by decree. Her own little fiefdom, courtesy of Barack Obama.
Jackson recently issued a decree that she would be imposing "new performance standards" for projects in the utilities and oil refinery business.

The problem here is that Jackson, like most government employees, is incompetent.
She is an apparatchik, or "useless part of the apparatus".
A useless bureaucrat that creates nothing, but tries to control and influence everything.
(Kind of like Paul Krekorian, or Joe Barrett)

There are 167 energy industry projects that are ready to begin construction down in Texas and Louisiana.
However, Jackson has declared that these projects must receive permits from the EPA!
A blatant violation of the 10th Amendment never stopped Lisa Jackson.

There remains a high possibility that Texas and Louisiana, in response to this economy-crushing meddling from Washington, may retaliate by turning off the natural gas pipelines which heat the Northeast during the winter. If they do this, Barack Obama, being the totalitarian he is, will use force. He will send the military down to the Red States to turn the pumps back on to protect his Blue State voters from freezing to death.

And of course, after that... as they say in the movies... hilarity ensues.

Remember, you read it here first.

Obama: He'll kill us all

This graph image above is a warning to all. Democrats, led by the very incompetent Barack Obama, have expressed their desire to grow government to the point that every single person is dependent on it.

They have made clear their distaste for the law and for the Constitution of The United States.
I oppose them in every way because as a member of the military, I swore an oath to protect that very same Constitution that they seem intent on destroying.

Obama and his minions have appointed hundreds of thousands of incompetent bureaucrats, and they have tried to seize 1/6 of the economy with their new Health Care scheme....a scheme that will be defunded when the new Congress rolls into office in January.

Obama and his crowd are the new apparatchik: an imposing bungle of bureaucrats who choke the economy and destroy previously functional parts of society.

Some day we may have to stand in line to deal with bungling bureaucrats here in Los Angeles. The new apparatchik, people like Joe Barrett and Paul Krekorian (The Dark Lord), people who have a desire to control every transaction that happens in the lives of others.

This is exactly how government destroys a society. Interference.
Because they say they know what is best for everyone.

If Obama keeps expanding government, he'll kill us all.

Our economy, and our society, will collapse.
It happened in Cuba, and in The Former Soviet Union.....

Buchanan says Palin is "Person of The Year"

Pat Buchanan also says in this video that she is "in the pole position" for the GOP Presidential Nomination in 2012.

I don't agree with him. I think Sarah Palin is #3 behind Romney and Huckabee.
But that is right now. Things may change.

The Los Angeles City Council: Muslim Sympathizers

Just when you think the lunatics on the Los Angeles City Council have committed their worst violation of public trust, they always find a way to top it. This story was drawn to my attention by my Facebook friend Pamela Geller. (She's a Conservative blogger that I met at CPAC in February). She writes a blog called "Atlas Shrugs" which is one of the strongest defenders of freedom in this country. She is very alert to the threat of Islam in America.
She wrote a blog about this story.

Wow.

It's difficult to even wrap your head around a statement that stupid.

Does the Los Angeles City Council really think that a lot of Angelenos are running around committing hate crimes against Muslims? I can guarantee you that this is not a fact. Like it said in the Daily News article linked to above, 88% of all hate crimes in LA County involving religion were crimes targeting Jews.

Muslims were one of the least affected by crime.
But they sure do seem to create a lot of it....

I want to be very clear about what I say next...

I am no fan of Islam. I consider it to be a violent and dangerous religion and a threat to world peace.

If I am ever elected to political office, I will do nothing to further the cause of Islam.

Why? You ask?
Because there is no such thing as a moderate Muslim. The primary goal of Islam is world domination.
It is a theology that is incompatible with human freedom and incompatible with our way of life in America.

Islam allows men to beat their wives for merely speaking to another man.
Islam allows the horrific practice of "honor killings" , the murder of a family member for perceived offenses.
Islam encourages their followers to murder non-believers. Other religions don't do this.
Islam allows human beings to be physically mutilated. Hands cut off, genitals mutilated.
Savage practices, yet common in the Islamic world.

And of course, there is the little matter of the 16,000 terrorist attacks committed by Muslims after the 9/11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington.

Where is the condemnation of this? The Los Angeles City Council fails to approach this subject matter.

Of course, if you are so sick and twisted in the head that you will defend a religion that allows adult men to marry female children, then you have become so depraved that nothing will affect you anymore.

The Prophet of Venice

It was nice to spend a little time at the beach yesterday. Two things I like to do on Christmas Day is to go to Broadway in Chinatown or to go to Venice Beach. Even though most other places are shut down on Christmas Day, these are two places in Los Angeles where you can usually find open shops and crowds of people.

It was fun to run into City Activist and local legend David "Zuma Dogg" Saltsburg.
Zuma Dogg had acquired a mobile digital recorder and was running around interviewing people for a radio program that he is doing. I forgot the call sign. KBB? ...or something like that.
Venice Beach-based information and entertainment, I believe he said.

Even though the snarky political blog Mayor Sam likes to hurl insults at ZD and call him "The Economist" or "The Prophet of Venice", they should watch their words.

Zuma Dogg has been hip to many, many crimes by the employees and the elected officials of Los Angeles for a long time.
Meruelo Maddox.... Weatherly Capital.... CRA corruption...Alarcon's voter registration fraud ... Herb Wesson sending money out of his district.....

Who gets these stories first?
Who is usually right about his predictions?

The Prophet of Venice.

Nutty, dangerous liberals strike again!

If any of you remember seeing this Audi commercial during the Super Bowl, you might have found it mildly amusing. I found it chilling, because this is not too far off from the way that real liberals think.

They think they have the right to destroy your personal freedom and to inflict all types of rules and regulations on you, simply because they think they know what is best for everyone. It is a delusional, egomaniacal worldview that is common among liberals. This type of thinking is sick and demented, and as Glenn Beck reminds us... it usually leads to massive human murder. Because eventually, you will break so many rules as a free human being, that your presence will no longer be desired.

Here in Los Angeles, we suffer many fools. Councilmember Jan Perry "The Hamburglar" . Perry decided that voters in her District were too fat, dumb , and stupid to make their own nutritional choices, so she banned fast food businesses from opening up in her South Central fiefdom.

"The Cat Whisperer" Paul Koretz. This deranged 5th District Council Member is on a crusade to save all the precious kitties in the world. Even though LA Animal Services euthanizes over 40,000 animals every year, Koretz decided the practice of declawing the little kitties was too barbaric, and thereby banned it from Los Angeles with the help of conspiring freedom-stealing Socialists on the City Council.

The one that has my blood boiling this morning is news out of St. Paul, Minnesota.

No Christmas candy canes, no bake sales. No candy bar sales for fundraisers.

What bothers me is that these people take this lying down.
I would be the first person in the courthouse suing this school district.

As a taxpayer, I would state to the court that they misunderstand their mission.
They are there to provide educational services. That and that alone.
They do not have the freedom to dictate nutritional or lifestyle choices to those who attend.
Not with taxpayer dollars they don't.

I have learned a lesson from Zuma Dogg and Matt Dowd.
The people who are in power have dangerous tendencies towards totalitarianism and the Police State.
Left unchecked, they will continue to trample personal freedoms and shred the Constitution.

The only thing they care about is money and power.
I have several lawsuits planned against the City in 2011, all of them concerning illegal behavior by the City government itself. I don't like doing it, but it seems like that is the only way they will listen.
They certainly have shown no interest in self-restraint.

The Mitt Romney Problem

Attention Republican voters: We have a Mitt Romney problem!

I was talking to a fellow Conservative at the CPAC convention in Washington in February.
We both agreed that Mitt Romney was leading the field in the 2012 nomination race because of his performance in the 2008 GOP primaries and his continual fundraising and bridge-building with other heavy hitters in the party.

However, we both agreed that this made us nervous.

I said to him, "He looks like a President, and he acts like a President, but something about him makes me uncomfortable about having him as our nominee."

He replied to me "Let's be honest... it's the Mormonism thing".

We had a spirited discussion where I agreed with his assertion that Evangelical voters have a strong distrust of Mormons and view that branch of Christianity, basically, as a cult. "I'm from the South," he said, "and that stuff just don't fly down there."

I countered by stating that I didn't think the Mormonism argument was the only one. I felt Romneys weakness was his moral "squishiness" where he had been kind of liberal as Governor of Massachusetts and had flip-flopped on some issues. I said his stances on "Romneycare" and abortion were troubling to Conservatives.

One of my good friends derisively calls Romney "Mr $50 Abortion" because he supported a provision of Romneycare that, indeed, did allow women to obtain an abortion for the cost of $50.

This lack of respect for life offends Conservatives.
Even though Mitt Romney has changed his tune on this subject, Conservatives are leery of him and will probably back a different candidate.

Mike Huckabee has a much better chance with Conservatives. But we are still many months from announcements, and many things could change the playing field.

But my fellow CPAC conventioneer and I agreed on one thing:

We don't want Romney in 2012.

Inaugural Celebration for Governor Perry

I was a financial donor to the campaign of Governor Rick Perry in his effort to be re-elected Governor of Texas.
I have been a very vocal proponent of Governor Perry running for President in 2012.
I believe that he offers the nation something crucial that Barack Obama doesn't.
Governor Perry has a ten year record as a chief executive with positive financial results.
Perry has helped Texas become the number one job-creator in America. More businesses move to Texas than anywhere else, due to their positive business climate and lack of restrictive, job-killing government regulations.

Governor Perry could make a convincing argument to voters in 2012. Voters who will have suffered under the incompetence of Barack Obama, a man who had never successfully led anything in his life.

I was happy to receive my invitation in the mail to his Inaugural Celebration.

Hopefully, he'll have an even bigger one in January of 2013.

Me and the SEIU

I've never been a fan of the SEIU (Service Employees International Union).
To me, they are just a bunch of greedy pigs who think of nothing else except "How can we get our hands on even more of the taxpayers money?"

The SEIU has only one mission -- survival. They are only interested in getting more and more people on the taxpayers dime and getting more and more union dues so the union leaders can continue their fat-cat jet-setting lifestyles.

The SEIU has never solved any problems. But they sure do like to create them.

Months ago when I was organizing the Recall of Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, I went to a protest held outside his house by ... you guessed it... The SEIU, the very people who had helped elect him.

Only now, two-timing Tony was talking about cutting City positions and cutting City pensions. That is sacrilege in the SEIU world. They won't have it. Their massive sense of entitlement leads them to feel that ALL city budget issues should be "run past them first". How dare that little punk Mayor cut their jobs!

SEIU leaders said I could speak at the protest, then went back on that offer.
Even though I was an enemy of their enemy, the fact that they couldn't control what I was doing gave them great reservations about getting involved. With the SEIU, it's their way or the highway.
I put my car in gear about 10 minutes after this photo was taken.

In a comical turn of events, the SEIU sent me a questionnaire as I had registered as a Candidate for City Council in 2011.

The questions are so slanted that it is comical.

Question #13 If elected, would you support using the City's share of federal Workforce Investment Act funds for support and expansion of City jobs?

Like I said earlier in this blog, it's all about them.

They won't like my answer to Question 16...

Question 16 Would you cross a picket line?

Yes, especially if it was an SEIU picket line.

Something tells me I won't be getting their endorsement.

Quicker steps towards tyranny. Obama trying to control information, internet

More disturbing news today as this leftist administration takes more leaps towards a tyrannical state.

Barack Obama and his fellow Socialist ideologues are trying to control information.
Terrified by the negative reaction to his health care plan, derisively labeled "Obamacare", the operatives have used government money to purchase the top search engine result on Google.

Reminiscent of Soviet-era propaganda, they are determined to control opinion and thoughts of our citizens.
Obama is the most dangerous President that America has ever had.
(And that is saying something!)

The criminal activities of this administration will only end in January of 2013.
They won't back away from their goals. They know no other way.

Gatto grows more dangerous by the minute

Disturbing news coming out that Assemblyman Mike Gatto, or "The Gatto-father" as I like to call him, has been named Assistant Speaker of the State House.

Now comes word that he wants to start messing around with voter initiatives, allowing corrupt politicians to override them or amend them after a few years. Attention Gatto-father...that is the reason voters had to come up with initiatives, to stop crooked politicians and their schemes. Allowing them to muck about in the issue destroys all integrity in the initiatives.

We all heard about Gatto's frightening attempt to silence the media. His legal battle with Mayor Sam's Mike Higby even made national news, even if only briefly. Check out this screenshot from Yahoo.

"Mike Gatto forces blogger...."

Yeah, that's the type of guy I want running my State government and making decisions that affect my life.
(sarcasm!)

I would call Gatto "The Most Dangerous Man in California" ....but there is a certain City Councilman who is aligned with the supernatural. I won't mention him by name.

(He'll send death-eaters to my house.)

A quick look at the City Council races

Today I'll give a brief rundown on what is happening in the March City races.

DISTRICT 2

Augusto Bisani is the only candidate who has qualified to challenge The Dark Lord.
He's a big underdog, but hey... Christine Essel got about 42% of the vote in the last election against Krekorian ...so anything can happen.
I'm rooting for Augusto, and he has some surprises coming. Evidently he has a large network of restaurant owners who know him and are willing to donate to his campaign. He might get matching funds.

One other thing worries me though....
Krekorian now possesses The Elder Wand, which makes him not only a threat to City residents, but he is now a threat to every living soul here on earth.

DISTRICT 4

Wow, talk about regrets. Do I ever regret not getting my signatures done!
I think this race is already over. My not being a part of it has doomed Stephen Box and Tomas O'Grady.
Having run for office twice already in this district, I think I had a good chance of going around and getting all the Conservatives/Republicans to vote for me. That would have taken about 25% of the vote away from LaBonge.

Without me in the race, voters now only have the option of two foreign-born candidates who have slighty nutty views about the environment. Bicycle Boy and the Eco-Warrior.
Other than that, they can vote for the friendly guy who kisses their asses, gives them a free calendar every year, and who has been hanging around City Hall and CD 4 for 20 years.
Welcome back, Tom La Bonge. One of the most untalented City Council members gets 4 more years, and an even fatter pension. Cha-ching!!

DISTRICT 6

Here is one race that I am actually excited about.
I'm 100% behind David Barron and his bid to oust career criminal Tony Cardenas from power.
Cardenas has been feeding at the public trough for many years now, and it's time to get rid of him.
It won't be easy, but David is a good man with character and class and he will be a perfectly acceptable choice to voters if he can raise the money to get his message out.

DISTRICT 8

It is unlikely that Bernard Parks will be unseated here...but you never know.
I don't know either of his opponents, but I do know that Forescee Hogan-Rowles is supported by the classy, yet sassy Soulvine writer Betty Pleasant. In the past, Pleasant has assured me that Bernard Parks is "hated in the black community ...hated!!
To Betty Pleasant, I say..."We will soon see..."

DISTRICT 10

How much of a jerk is Herb Wesson that he has five opponents against him on the ballot? Obviously they think he is weak and is doing a bad job if this many people think they can beat him in the election.
I'll give the candidates in District 10 one good item to focus on. Wessons debilitating addiction to cigarettes pretty much makes him a drug addict. He has to repeatedly leave council meetings to go outside and get his "fix" of nicotine. City Activist Zuma Dogg is going to run anti-Wesson commercials in his District.
That certainly won't help Wessons chances. I predict a runoff election here.

District 12 (a.k.a. "the takeover")

This election is pretty much Mitch Englanders to lose. He has the connections. He knows the community.
He has raised the most money. However, he does have five opponents on the ballot.
Still, I don't think they are a big threat. Englander did his homework here for the last few years.
He's the big favorite. Walter Moore could have beaten Englander, but he didn't want to move to the Valley to get a seat on City Council.

District 14

The true bloodbath is here in CD 14. Jose Huizar is weak in his own District and can be beaten. Businessman Rudy Martinez has money, a little fame juice from being on TV, and the motivation to run and defeat Huizar.
Will it be enough? It is hard to say. Not much is known about Martinez.
Forces working for Huizar are trying to slime Martinez with stories about him re-registering to vote as a Democrat (true) and possession of an unofficial Police Officer badge?? (maybe true?)
Still, these attacks are weak. If Huizar can't stand on his own record, then he deserves to lose.

Bisani stands alone

Local businessman Augusto Bisani is the last, best hope for voters in Council District 2.
He is the only man who qualified to face The Dark Lord in the March Primary election.

I am happy to endorse him and support his candidacy.

I would like to remind voters that Paul Krekorian is a job killer and an economy destroyer.

Rick Perry for President 2012!!

This is a fantastic commercial that highlights everything that Obama does wrong without mentioning him specifically.

Rick Perry has made Texas a growth and job-creation juggernaut.
This will sound like music to voters ears in 2012, after 4 years of suffering with the failed policies of Barack Obama.

Why Sarah Palin is running for President

It would be hard not to notice the clues that Sarah Palin has been dropping about running for President.
Her recent trip to Haiti. Her continual Facebook and Twitter comments about the mistakes and errors of the Obama administration. The Barbara Walters interview.

Sarah Palin is running for President.... and there is nothing anyone can do about it.

There are bluebloods and establishment Republicans who are, quite honestly, afraid of her.
They see her stunning popularity and worry about her winning the GOP nomination.
It makes sense that she would try. Many candidates who are unsuccessful as the VP nominee go after the Presidency themselves. But it doesn't always work out (see Walter Mondale).

Here are the Top 5 reasons Sarah Palin is running for President.

1. Todd Palin

Sarah is a loving wife who likes to make her husband happy. She spent much of her life as Sarah Heath, and only became Sarah Palin through marriage. Her rise from City Council to Mayor of Wasilla, Alaska probably gave her husband additional status and local pride to share with his buddies.... but her rise to Governor of Alaska probably blew his mind. Then, her nomination as a Vice-Presidential candidate was something that was out of the realm of possibility for a man who is a small town fisherman in Alaska.
Todd has made it clear to his inner circle of friends that he wants Sarah to run.
That fact alone should seal the deal.

2. Money

Barack Obama raised and spent a staggering $700 million in his run for the White House.
Sarah Palin supporters might be able to bring in that type of money, also.
Sarah is a girl from small town Alaska who had never been wealthy before, even when she was Governor of the State. Her book and television show have changed her life completely.
While some pundits say that Sarah needs a few more years of grooming before running for President, Sarah may need to strike while the iron is hot. She will probably never have this window of opportunity again.
In addition to spending it on herself, she can be a kingmaker and help get many GOP candidates elected in 2012.

3. Rebel

Sarah is part rebel and enjoys doing what she is told she can't do. There are operatives in the Republican Party who are actively trying to stop her already. Notice the sudden increase in suggestions that "Sarah should run for US Senate"..."Sarah should be the new Chairman of the GOP"....anything except running for President.

4. Support

Sarah Palin supporters...especially the right-to-life voters, are among the most fanatical out there. Do you think you can get a bunch of volunteers to trudge through the dark, cold, snowy nights in Iowa and New Hampshire to campaign for Tim Pawlenty? Yeah, sure. A few of them.
Sarah would have an unmatched army of supporters that would work with a religious fervor for her.
Tim Pawlenty said he was waiting to see what Sarah does before declaring.
Basically, he's afraid of a girl. How much support can he get acting like that?

5. History

Hillary Clinton had a chance to be the first female nominee from a major party, but then the long knives came out and Democrats showed who they truly are. They would accept anyone ...even Barack Obama as their candidate, rather than let a woman be in power. Sad.
Sarah Palin has a legitimate chance to win the GOP nomination.
Critics say she can't win.
But she has heard that type of talk before.
Thankfully, she doesn't listen to it.

A Dangerous RINO is on the loose!

As if things couldn't get any worse for Republicans in California.....

A dangerous RINO is now on the loose.
Carly Fiorina might be running for the leadership of the California Republican Party.
Or at least, that is the word on the street.
Could this rumor be true?

I have had some communications with former U.S. Senate candidate Chuck DeVore -- and he has assured me that all Carly has to do is be nominated from the floor during the March convention, and she can win the position.

This news chills my blood. Fiorina is a dangerous RINO. She stands for nothing.
That means she will compromise on anything.
Fiorina, who would not oppose the atrocity of Sotomayor and Kagan being on the Supreme Court -- should not be in charge of anything.

I was highly critical of our parties decision to support Meg Whitman and Carly Fiorina in the recent elections. They were "vanity candidates" who could have achieved 10x what they did if they had donated their money to other candidates. But no, ... it was all about them.
They were phonies who stood for nothing and had no history of contributing anything to the party or politics in general.

Voters saw through them and sent them packing.

I am genuinely concerned that Fiorina might actually take the spot.
I will have to warn the Sacramento Police that a dangerous RINO is on the loose, and they can intercept it in March at the Hyatt Regency in Sacramento.

Barnett crushes enemies, expands control

Jane Barnett was re-elected Chairman of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County (RPLAC) today.

It was a result that myself and many others tried to stop, but Jane and her supporters were too strong.
We managed to get a lot of votes for Colonel John Fer , and if about 20 people had changed their minds, we would have won. After Jane was re-elected and re-took control of the meeting, the rout was on.
None of the other candidates who didn't have her blessing had a chance.

Although, to be honest, the opposition did a poor job of campaigning and being ready for the other elections other than Chairman. We didn't even know who we were supposed to vote for until the last minute.
Jane and her forces had been campaigning for weeks. They won going away.

It was a rough day. I'm tired and don't walk to talk about it anymore.....

3 hours until RPLAC showdown

I'm on my way soon to pick up several Central Committee members and carpool them to the RPLAC elections.
Check my Facebook page for updates, which will stream during the day.

Jane Barnett faces critics, crucial election Saturday

The above video shows Vladimir "Val " Cymbal being a bit hot-tempered about Jose Aguilar videotaping a meeting of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County (RPLAC). Even though Aguilar is an elected member, Cymbal insists he leaves....basically at his demand. Near the end of the video, you see Jane Barnett being very sassy and taunting Jose by saying "We kicked you out".

This is not leadership.

On Saturday the entire County Republican Party will meet to elect it's leaders for the next two years.
Jane Barnett has asked for another term. Many support her, many are against her.

Here are some critics...

RABBI NACHUM SHIFREN

Dear Jane
I noticed that you included me as one of your endorsements. I did not endorse you. Let me tell you why: Like many conservatives and American patriots (notice I didn't say "republicans"), I am through with the mis-directed policies and ideologies (what ideologies?) of RPLAC. I simply cannot take our party seriously when we have back-stabbers like Abel Maldonado that receive standing ovations (Newt Gingrich event, Beverly Hills), hyped up by Shawn Steel and others.

Are we for real?

As you know, I've been teaching in inner city schools for the last 22 years. Our drop-out rate in LAUSD is 50%. We have an African-American achievement gap that cries to the Heavens, and is a source of societal agitation greater than any threat we face from any terrorist group. At the same time, our cities, our schools, our jails are being overrun by illegal aliens that are aided and abetted by our political mafia--on both sides of the political aisle. Recently, our own Ron Nehring (L.A. Times, Dec. 6) all but put the kibosh on those party faithfuls that believe in the rule of law and are against a wholesale cultural and political takeover of our country by a Third World basket case exporting gangs and drugs.

So, the question is: Who are we, and what are we for? Are we robots that simply attend high-priced banquets, hand out plaques to political scoundrels that don't give a damn about the working man and woman? Have we not the backbone to say clearly: WE ARE AMERICANS, AND WE WILL DO WHAT WE HAVE TO DO TO NURTURE AND CULTIVATE OUR ENGLISH LANGUAGE, OUR AMERICAN VALUES, AND OUR MARKET ECONOMY THAT HAS CREATED MORE WEALTH FOR SO MANY?

I don't think we can take these platforms for granted any longer. I believe I speak for the vast majority of those that will be voting on December 11 when I say: IT IS TIME FOR NEW, BOLD, AND UNAPOLOGETIC LEADERSHIP THAT WILL NOT ABANDON OUR CORE BELIEFS AT THE CHANGE OF THE DIRECTION OF THE WIND! To wit: We are besieged by outright Communists and proponents of absolute re-distribution of wealth, so antithetical to American beliefs. Yet, where do we as Republicans find an opposition to this sedition in our leadership? Where is the proponent of a clear patriotic, individual liberty-oriented alternative to the radical Leftists infesting Sacramento? Instead, we are dumbed-down by our "leaders", admonished from being too overly-enthusiastic about the values that are the basis for our very freedoms and prosperity.

After the miserable whooping that was handed to us, we simply cannot go on with a "business as usual attitude."
I'll tell you this: If I were party chairman, I'd have this frank talk with our base, and subsequently submit my resignation. At least, I would go out in class and with a semblance of responsibility.

Sincerely, Rabbi Shifren

********************************************

Chris Kolski

Dear Jane:

I have received several emails from CC members complaining about their names
being used by you as your supporters without their consent. This prompted me to
check your emails listing your supporters. I found my name listed there as well
(misspelled). I did not endorse you or authorized you to use my name as your
supporter. Please remove my name from the list.

I do believe that the RPLAC has to undergo major changes in order for the
Republicans to be able to win races in Los Angeles County. We cannot go on with
“business as usual”. We cannot afford to have a party that continues to support
RINOs. We must stand for the conservative, constitutional values in order to
regain the trust of the electorate. We must reach out to minorities, Latinos and
Asians, gain their support and start winning races.

Sincerely,
Chris Kolski
PS. I support John Fer for Chairman

Subject: Jane Barnett for Chairman?
To:

Since May 14, 2009, self-professed Chairman of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County (RPLAC), Jane Barnett, has stated at many of the meetings over which she has presided that RPLAC "has registered 50,000 new Republicans." As a former employee of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), whose motto is "Fidelity, Bravery, Integrity," it became a duty to research the validity of her claim.
Having gone to www.lavote.net, both the Final Official Election Returns of the June 3, 2008, Primary Vote (dated 10/07/08) and the Semi-Final Election Returns of June 8, 2010, Primary Vote (dated 07/02/10) were downloaded to see whether her claim was valid. A comparison of the two Primary Votes (http://rrcc.co.la.ca.us/elect_results/pejun08.ets and http://rrcc.co.la.ca.us/elect_results/pejun10.ets), done on an Excel spreadsheet, shows only a net increase of 6,769 Republican votes in Los Angeles County compared to a net increase of over 208,260 Democrat votes for the same elections. (It should be noted that, in 2010, there weren’t any Republican votes registered for the 39th AD as there wasn’t a Republican candidate running for Assembly nor were there any Republican candidates running for Central Committee.) Now Jane is claiming that RPLAC has registered an additional 20,000 Republicans between June 8th and Nov. 2nd. Unfortunately, the County Recorder’s Office couldn’t give me any figures to verify Jane’s claim.
In nine or more Assembly Districts, there was an actual loss of Republican votes! Don’t take my word for it, go to the links above and view the results for yourself. Of course, you will have to dig out the figures as I did.
What about the $400,000 that Jane allegedly raised for RPLAC? Is she including monies she received from the Fiorina and Whitman campaigns to get out the word? What monies were raised for RPLAC candidates’ filing fees, slate mailers, operations, offices, etc.? Can RPLAC Treasurer Len Lanzi give us details?
Jane speaks about being a Christian and only God knows her heart. Scripture tells us, however, "Let your yes be yes and your no be no."Rumor has it that Jane promised a Congressional candidate a slate mailer and, thereafter, reneged. Jane, however, gave her friend Peggy Mew a slate mailer - some in the 44th AD say three slate mailers - and Peggy was only running for Central Committee! The Chairman of RPLAC must be above reproach in letting his/her yes be yes and his/her no be no.
In addition to the above, Jane initiated her "Red Strike Force" to put Republicans where they were needed, and for other purposes. Unfortunately, sending Republicans out of Los Angeles County to walk precincts for Republican candidates in other counties is not a good way to spend precious few Republican resources. Why wasn’t there enough money to spend on Republican candidates in Los Angeles County? Why wasn’t the "Red Strike Force" organized IN ADVANCE to over-see the counting of write-in/mail-in ballots at the County offices in Norwalk - as the Democrats did - after the last General Election?
This is NOT the kind of leadership that RPLAC desperately needs. As a self-proclaimed Christian, Jane should know that Christians are good stewards of not only their own things but the things of others, in this case, the resources, talents, and monies of RPLAC.
RPLAC desperately needs someone with foresight who knows something about truth telling, honesty, good stewardship and who can, and will, put those qualities to work!

Obama goes under Olbermanns bus.

Whenever the fallacy of liberal ideology starts to unravel, the believers start to come unhinged.
Witness Keith Olbermann (who I despise) starting to agree with me that Obama sucks.
It was just a matter of time....

The RPLAC Saga: The next battle begins on Saturday

The civil war in the Republican Party of Los Angeles takes another turn on Saturday as a large County meeting with a formal election is scheduled. I hope to be present at the meeting to cover the events.

Forces led by Jane Barnett will attempt to continue their control over RPLAC. Forces who oppose her will try to remove her from her position and elect John Fer as Chairman.

I don't know how everything will turn out, but by the time the meeting ends in the afternoon, the smoke will have cleared and RPLAC will have new leaders for the next two years.

Stay tuned for more details.

Deadline day for candidates

Today is the last day for candidates for the City election on March 8th to turn in their mandated 500 voter petition signatures in order to be included on the ballot.

Many candidates are going to fail this step. A few will succeed, though.

Tomas O'Grady made it on the ballot, so Tom LaBonge has to defend against two candidates for his job.

Althea Shaw made it on the ballot in CD 10. Congrats to her.

I have heard from David Barron that he plans to turn his in today. I wish him luck.

Can Augusto Bisani help save Los Angeles?

It is clear to me that the City of Los Angeles and it's obnoxious ballot requirements..(who wants to chase down 500 voters for their signatures... over Thanksgiving Holidays !!?).. are designed to keep people OUT of local elections. And they are doing a great job. In 2007, five of the sitting City Council Members had no opponent in the election. The way things are headed right now, it won't be a repeat of 2007, but it won't be much better, either.

As of right now, no challengers have qualified for the ballot to face The Dark Lord in CD 2.
Augusto Bisani may be the last hope for freedom and democracy in the Valley.

After I dropped out of the race due to signature issues, and Frank Sheftel followed me in leaving the race, it appears that the Al Bundy of CD 4 (Tom LaBonge) might only be challenged by two left-leaning foreigners, Stephen Box and Tomas O'Grady. They might be able to pull 30-40 % combined of the vote, but I think LaBonge has handed out too many City certificates and kissed too much butt to be denied another term by these newcomers.

I really like David Barron in CD 6. He is a man of character . His website is great.
Now, lets just hope he makes the ballot. Tony Cardenas should probably be in jail right now, but with the sorry state of Los Angeles politics, there is always the chance that he'll be re-elected instead.

Unfortunately, nobody has yet qualified to be on the ballot to face Betty Pleasants favorite politician : Bernard Parks. Betty, please put out a Soulvine alert!

In Council District 10, I am happy to say that a good option exists for voters. Austin Dragon has been involved with Republican politics for some time now. He's a million times better than Herb Wesson, the man I like to to call "The Little Rooster" for his continual preening and bravado while at the City Council meetings.

It will be difficult to stop the takeover in CD 12, where Mitch Englander has spent the last two years building for this race. Englander will probably have several challengers for the open seat of retiring Greig Smith, but it would not be smart to bet against him.

CD 14 looks to be the real bloodbath in this election, with businessman Rudy Martinez already having billboards and a campaign office open and ready to take down Jose Huizar. Mud is already flying between the two camps, and the ballot positions haven't even been drawn yet. This one is going to get very ugly. Some of my friends in the CD 14 area seem to be moving towards Martinez, based more on animosity towards Huizar than anything else.

Happy Hanukkah

I'd like to take this chance to wish a Happy Hanukkah to all of my friends who are Jewish.
As a Catholic, I do not practice Judaism, but I do have a deep respect and admiration for the ancient religion.
All Christian faiths came from Judaism. Jesus was Jewish and so were the 12 Apostles.
I could never do a good enough job of explaining Hanukkah, so I found a great page to link to.

Badgers headed to Pasadena! And so am I.

It looks like I'll be getting my birthday wish a day early as tomorrow the University of Wisconsin Badgers will accept the invitation to play in the Rose Bowl on New Years Day against Texas Christian University.

It has been a long time. I got a bit spoiled by watching Badger victories in person in the 1994, 1999, and 2000 Rose Bowls.

I can't wait for Jan. 1st.

Darkness descends on Council District 2

Deeply troubling reports are coming out of the Valley today. Freedom and Democracy are under siege.

The Dark Lord may, indeed, face no challengers on the ballot March 8th.

Reports from those closely involved say that none of the three candidates who have filed to run against Krekorian have been able to complete the obnoxious (and possibly illegal) requirement by the City that they present 500 valid voter petition signatures to the City Clerks Office in order to be on the March 8th, 2011 ballot. In fact, some of them aren't even close. Although there are a few days left, the possibility of these candidates completing the task becomes less and less likely.

An uncontested four year term resulting in unprecedented destruction is what awaits the poor residents of CD2. Horrified residents are scrambling to help out the challengers, but it may already be too late.

Aided by Dangerous Enemies of Freedom like Judy Price and Lisa Sarkin, The Dark Lord continues to expand his power and control over Council District 2.

Challenging and defeating The Dark Lord in the March 8th election is probably impossible. What is even more disturbing is that there appears to be no one who can even slow him down.

Council District 2 voters see only darkness ahead ...and it might be here for a long time.

A message from John Fer

Please allow this letter to inform you of my declaration of candidacy for the Chairmanship of our RPLAC. Attached to this e-mail message is my platform, explaining the reasons why I am running. My decision has been positively received by many of our fellow Republicans and resulted in unsolicited endorsements from Los Angeles City Attorney Carmen “Nuch” Trutanich; Gene Dotson, recent past president of the Peninsula Harbor Republicans; and best-selling political author and lecturer Lt Colonel Robert “Buzz” Patterson, USAF-Ret. These admired and well-respected Republican leaders reflect well-placed confidence in my ability to restore Republican greatness to our much-needed county.
As you know, our performance in this month’s general election was, to put it simply, an embarrassment. While the rest of America was recapturing the core of Constitutional government of, by and for the people, and “one Nation under God,” we here in Los Angeles County were confounded once again by the good old boy network of self-interest and self-preservation. Consequently, California continued its downward spiral.
I come before you as an outsider, and not as an establishment operative. Please know, this is not about “me!” and know, I will work with every patriotic and dedicated Republican as I have done both in times of war and peace. This election is not about personalities, but in marketing ideas: Conservative ideas to those not voting Republican.
Please review my candidacy and I welcome your contacting me with any questions.
Sincerely,
John Fer
Col, USAF-Ret

SUBJECT: Candidate for Chairmanship of RPLAC

I am running for Chairman of the Republican Party of Los Angeles County to restore Republican greatness to our community. As most of you know, Los Angeles County is “ground zero” for the rest of the state, i.e., when we win Los Angeles County we win California.

Our performance in this month’s general election was, to put it simply, an embarrassment. While the rest of America was recapturing the core of Constitutional government of, by and for the people, and “one Nation under god,” we were confounded once again by the good old boy network of self-interest and self-preservation. Consequently, California continued its downward spiral.

I come from the viewpoint of a fellow native Southern Californian, born and raised in San Pedro, who has seen our once great Party fall from grace. It is axiomatic that when the organization fails to reach its stated objectives, most often it is because of failed leadership.

Following my release from a Vietnam prisoner of war camp after more than six years, I continued to serve our country by supporting and defending the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. During that twenty-eight year career, I held positions as an aircraft pilot and eventually earned the rank of Colonel with responsibilities to lead and manage hundreds of military and civilian personnel and multi-million dollar budgets, both in the field and at the Pentagon. I have the experience and credentials to go out into the business, religious, and veteran's communities to raise funds which no other candidate can compare with.

After serving our Nation, I became a school principal for fourteen years and I hold two Masters Degrees: Political Science and Educational Administration. I currently serve as the Director of Ministries for the largest Los Angeles Catholic Parish, exercising the coordination of ministries comprised of Latino, Eastern European, African-American, and Asian citizens.

As Chairman, I intend to bring a fresh and enlightened leadership to the RPLAC:

  • I come as an outsider, not an establishment operative: and this is not about “me!” I will work with every patriotic and dedicated Republican as I have done both in times of war and peace. This election is not about personalities, but ideas: Conservative ideas.

  • As Chairman of RPLAC, my philosophy will be to work with all dedicated Republicans who desire to win elections by marketing our Party’s principles and platform to those who are currently not with us, in order for them to understand that we offer opportunity for all and believe in personal responsibility.

The major thrust of our efforts must be the establishment of relationships with those who have not voted Republican: those voting Independent, Democratic, or other parties primarily because we Republicans have not articulated our message of Constitutional fidelity, religious freedom, fiscal conservatism, and personal liberty and traditional family values—all virtues that are deeply imbedded in America.

  • My personal relationship with national, state and local leaders makes me the logical choice for Chairman because I have established relationships with them; and also with voters across all politico-socio-economic levels. Only by executing a vigorous effort to market our Conservative Republican platform to all voters, can we be assured of winning elections.

Having a business degree or engaging in commerce is not enough: building trusting and meaningful relationships is critical to earning votes from communities our Party has ignored. I have worked, lived and served with people of all backgrounds in my twenty-eight years in our United States Air Force. I understand the dynamics politically, educationally, culturally, and I know how to organize resources in order to complete missions.

In order to be a successful Republican Party of Los Angeles County we must:

  • Effectively raise funds to support our mission;
  • Re-establish Republican conservative principles of limited government, individual liberty, and fiscal responsibility;
  • Recruit and support quality, principled candidates for all RPLAC-related seats;
  • Eliminate self-serving and self-promoting individuals who undermine our efforts to work together and win elections.

The challenges we Republicans in Los Angeles County face are formidable, however, I am convinced that by working together we can forge a credible and competent team to achieve convincing electoral victories not only in 2012 but beyond. And in order to do this I humbly and respectfully request the honor of your vote.

Sincerely,

John Fer

Jane Barnett throws down the gauntlet

Stunning news today as Republican Party of Los Angeles County Chairman Jane Barnett has sprung a surprise on everyone involved with County activities.

Jane Barnett issued an email from the County website asking people to re-elect her as Chairman.
She really threw down the gauntlet to all challengers.
Not only did she hype her own achievements, but she also included a list of her supporters.

In my opinion, this is clearly an attempt to intimidate any potential challengers.
(Easy to win an election when the votes are already in your pocket.)

Lawsuits, threats, counter suits, etc....

The court battle continues on appeal.

My problem with this whole situation is the way that people went about it.
If some supporters weren't happy with the leadership, they should have done something five months earlier during the scheduled election in December of 2008.

But to come storming into a meeting in May of 2009 and say that you have the right to vote every officer out of his job? That is lunacy. The new officers, in my opinion, pulled off a coup d'etat that night. It was a sudden and illegal seizure of power.

Jane Barnett - Chairman, Gary Aminoff - First Vice Chairman, John Cozza - Second Vice Chairman, Alex Burrola - Secretary, Davina Keiser - Assistant Secretary, Leonard Lanzi - Treasurer, Gwen Patrick, Assistant Treasurer.

In the minds of these new officers, it was O.K. with them to justify invalidating the results of a legitimate election just because they weren't happy. If the above-mentioned officers were so set on controlling the County GOP, then why didn't they run for those posts in the legitimate December election?

Instead, they used the tactics of banana-republic dictators to achieve power.

Then at a later meeting, Jane Barnett and Gary Aminoff decided to throw out elected members of the County Central Committee. It was a shocking display of arrogance.

How in God's name did they feel they had the right to disenfranchise thousands of voters who actually elected Jose Aguilar and Robert Vaughn? On a mere whim of theirs?

Any person who participated in any of this nonsense is showing just how far they have strayed from Republican core values. Seeking power for the sake of being in power is not a Conservative value. It is the opposite of what we believe in.

The people who carried out this coup d'etat felt justified on a whim to invalidate the results of a legitimate pre-planned and announced election. They violated the personal freedoms of those officers to finish the terms they had been elected to...which had been agreed upon by all parties involved.
These plotters also failed to see the bigger picture and destroyed trust between the party and the voters by throwing elected officers out of the party, effectively saying to those voters that "you are unimportant and your voices are not worth listening to."

If this is what these people in power think it means to be a Republican in California, then I am ashamed to call myself one. If you can't follow the rule of law, then you have no business whatsoever being in power.

These new leaders have lost every single election they have injected themselves into, and I think it's time for a change. We need strong, principled leaders of character in our party.

Not ones who will blindly follow people like Whitman and Fiorina over the cliff.

Daily doses of tyranny

I'm getting tired of these little daily doses of tyranny from the Obama Administration.

The government will keep all our food supply safe by banning small growers and producers ?

I suppose the government will do a bang-up job with this....

Just like how the government kept the skies safe on 9-11.
Like how they keep Amtrak on time and under budget.
And operate the Postal Service at a profit.
And operate Medicare and Medicaid without any fraud, waste, or abuse.

Keep these fools away from my dinner table!
