The Jennerjahn Report is receiving information from local activists that City Council Candidate Stephen Box is denying involvement with the Church of Scientology. He claims to not be a member of the religion based on the writings of Science Fiction/Fantasy author L. Ron Hubbard.
This is in contrast to other previous information from contacts and sources who have stated that Box is a practicing Scientologist.
However, other contacts are saying that Box has, indeed, denied involvement with the Church of Scientology.
A recent interview with a local blogger at The Griffith Park Wayist revealed that Box says he is "probably still a registered Nazarene"... a somewhat vague answer that neither confirms nor denies anything. Later in the interview, Box is described as being "a devotee of no organized religion". (I wonder if the voters of the 4th Council District will find this kind of candidate appealing?)
So... to set the record straight.
Stephen Box : Not a Scientologist, by his own definition.
But The Jennerjahn Report will continue to investigate allegations to the contrary.
