Recall City Hall.Org currently does not have enough signatures and has not raised enough money to successfully put Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa on a Recall Ballot for the November elections. Apologies to all of those who supported the effort. The effort is not finished, and we may use some of the remaining funds to re-file in the future. But the August 18 deadline is approaching and as of now we are short of our goals. It is unlikely that this situation will change.
Economic times are very tough here in Los Angeles. At a recent political event, some candidates running for US Congress couldn't even get supporters to write checks to them for $40. It was this type of economic devastation that hampered our effort.
We raised some money, but not enough.
If we had raised at least $250,000 we could have bulk-mailed Recall petitions to most registered voters in Los Angeles. Now, for the lack of this minor amount of political capital, the City will be forced to endure the reign of corrupt Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa for a while longer.
Recall City Hall . Org remains quite confident that the Mayor will face another Recall action before 2013.
Recall City Hall . Org also supports the efforts of other activists to remove City Council Members from power in the 2011 City Elections.
